Can I help translating pages in this wiki?

Of course, and thanks a lot! Just

  1. go to the foreign page,
  2. log in at the top right using your Catrobat user credentials (this currently works only with native Catrobat credentials, not with Google Open Authentication login, so you may have to create a new native Catrobat account from within Pocket Code or one of our other apps)
  3. tap on edit
  4. select your language into which you want to translate the page into at the bottom of the page (see the the screenshot below.)

Note that you'll need to know your language's locale, e.g., in the following screenshot,

  • en = English
  • de = German (deutsch)
  • zh_CN = Modern Chinese (simplified Chinese characters used in mainland China)

Language selection at the bottom of the page you want to translate, once you tapped on edit (see bottom of the screenshot):

One important thing is to put a language-specific prefix like en_ or de_ or zh_CH_ before the names of any language-specific attachments, especially screenshots in a particular language that look different for each language. See, for instance

Regarding the translation of these FAQ pages, the above way as-of-now does not work. This is a limitation of the xwiki software for which we have filed a ticket: https://jira.xwiki.org/browse/FAQ-24
