The arccos(a) function is the inverse function of the cos(α).

You can use this function when having an equation like this: cos(α) = 0. You can use the arccos, arccos(cos(α)) = arccos(0) <=> α = arcos(0) <=> α = 90°.

Tip: arccos(a) is the same as cos^(-1) (a).

The arccos(a) function can also be displayed in a coordinate system, shown in the picture below.
